G3 Canada donates grain rescue equipment to Sturgeon County

The life-saving equipment vital in allowing firefighters to conduct a safe and effective rescue

Pictured above (l-r) is Coun. Dan Derouin, Protective Services/Fire Chief Pat Mahoney, Mr. Ryan Dechief, General Manager of the G3 Primary Elevator located in Sturgeon County, Mayor Alanna Hnatiw, Coun. Patrick D. Tighe, Deputy Mayor Kristin Toms and Coun. Wayne Bokenfohr along with the grain rescue equipment donated by G3.  Coun. Neal Comeau and Karen Shaw were unable to attend.

Sturgeon County Council members were on-hand to thank G3 Canada Ltd. for their generous donation of grain rescue equipment to its Emergency Services department. The life-saving “Res Q Tube” and auger, valued at more than $4,000, is vital in allowing firefighters to conduct a safe and effective rescue of a person trapped in grain. Sturgeon County firefighters held a training session with the equipment in August.

"G3’s commitment to supporting grain safety helps us protect our farmers and producers," said Sturgeon County Mayor Alanna Hnatiw. "We want to thank G3 for their generous donation and ongoing support."
